1. Be Thankful
© Michelle Howard Smith - All Rights Reserved Another Thanksgiving "Day" has come and gone. People have had their fill. In some homes, there was giving of thanks to God for His bountiful blessings. In other homes, there was an abundance of Eat, Drink & Be Merriness. Whatever way you celebrated Thanksgiving, this is a gentle reminder that Thanksgiving should be Every Day. If you are able to do nothing more than wake up in the morning and use the bathroom, you have something to be thankful for. While Thanksgiving is a day that most people step back from the stress of their every day responsibilities, Thanksgiving is also a day for some where there is no food, there is no family and there is no looking forward to our next holiday, Christmas. Even these people have something to be thankful for. Why you ask? Why? How about the fact that we don't know what tomorrow may bring? The person without finances to buy the things they need or want may experience God's blessings on tomorrow and come across what he or she needs to make ends meet. Tomorrow is unknown so why not look towards it with positive expectancy? Instead of dreading tomorrow, look towards it with a mindset that says, "I may not have what I need today but I have my health and strength." or a mindset that says, "I may not be able to make ends meet today, but tomorrow is a new day with new experiences and new opportunities." It's when we have a postive mindset that we keep ourselves from stressing out to the point of burnout. So now that Thanksgiving Day has come and gone, let this be your gentle reminder that you saw another day. A day that was not promised to you.
